Draft, Profile, and Sketch Selection command bar
The default selection command bar is displayed only when nothing is selected. Once you select an object, the selection command bar is replaced with a command bar for editing the selected object.
The options that are available on the Selection command bar vary with document type. The example below is what you see in a draft document:
- Select Options

Accesses the Select Options dialog box so you can specify which types of objects and elements you want the Select tool to recognize.
- Fence Filter

Specifies which elements will be selected.

Inside—Specifies that elements inside the fence are selected.

Outside—Specifies that elements outside the fence are selected.

Overlapping—Specifies that elements overlapped by the fence are selected.

Inside and Overlapping—Specifies that elements overlapped by the fence are selected, as well as elements inside the fence.

Outside and Overlapping—Specifies that elements overlapped by the fence are selected, as well as elements outside the fence.

- Top Down

Specifies that groups of elements are located as opposed to individual elements in a group.
- Bottom Up

Specifies that individual elements in a group are located as opposed to the whole group.
- SmartSelect

Displays the SmartSelect Options dialog box. Use the selection criteria in the dialog to create a selection set by selecting an element and searching for other elements with similar attributes, such as color or line width.
- Rectangular Fence

Specifies that the fence will be a rectangle. Click and drag the cursor to define the fence.
- Polygon Fence

Specifies that the fence will be a polygon. You are prompted to click points to define the polygon shape.
The command bar automatically switches back to rectangular fence when the polygon fence is finished or canceled.
- Back

Moves backward in the polygon fence vertex set. You can also press "b" to move backward. This option is only available for polygon fences.
- Forward

Moves forward in the polygon fence vertex set. You can also press "n" to move forward. This option is only available for polygon fences.
- Deselect (x)

Clears the current input. This option is only available for polygon fences.
- Accept (check mark)

Accepts the current input. This option is only available for polygon fences.
