SmartSelect Options dialog box
In 2D environments, specifies the filter criteria to use to create a selection set. The initial settings are based on the attributes of the element you clicked. Select the criteria you want to match in the selection set, and clear the criteria you do not want to match.
The Select Options dialog box controls which elements are recognized and selectable. The SmartSelect Options dialog box enables you to include or exclude elements from the selection set based on style and geometric characteristics.
- Element type
-
Selects all elements that match the type of the element you selected.
You can use the Element type option to discriminate between different types of 2D geometry (for example, to select circles but not curves) and different types of annotations (for example, to select callouts but not balloons).
Example:If you selected a yellow line, then all yellow lines are selected automatically.
If you want to include yellow circles as well as yellow lines in the selection set, then you can clear the Element type check box.
-
Circles of same radius—Further narrow the selection from all circles to only circles with the same radius as the one you selected.
Example:You can use this option to count the same-size hole circles on a 2D Model sheet in Draft.
-
Occurrences of selected block—Select to find all occurrences of the same block view with the same name.
Example:A block view is an alternative graphical representation of a master block. For example, a switch shown in the open and closed states has two block views. For more information, see the Blocks overview topic.
-
- Layer
-
Selects all 2D elements on the same layer that match the properties of the input object. If the input object is a drawing view, then all drawing views on the layer are selected.
When this option is cleared, then elements that are visible on other layers are also eligible for selection.
The availability of the following options depends on the element type.
- Color
-
Selects elements that match the color of the selected element type.
- Line width
-
Selects elements that match the line width of the selected element type.
- Line type
-
Selects elements that match the line style of the selected element type.
