Defining AutoCAD block origins on import
Blocks in AutoCAD are often created with the AutoCAD default origin of 0,0. Because of this, when blocks are placed within a drawing file, there may be problems with the location, relative to the origin of the file. In other words, the blocks may be placed a great distance from the origin. To solve this problem, you can use the Modify Block Origins on import parameter, located in the seacad.ini file to redefine the block origin based on the range of elements within the block. Setting the parameter value to 0 does not change the block origin when you import the file. Setting the parameter value to 1 changes the block origin to the lower left hand corner of the range.
Changing the block origin does not affect the location of the graphics relative to the origin of the file.
Importing multiline text
You can use the Multiline text as Multiline text parameter in the seacad.ini to control how QY CAD imports AutoCAD.multiline text. By default, the parameter is set to 1, which imports multiple lines of text within a single text box. When set to 1, the AutoCAD text string wraps based on the width of the text box. You can set the parameter to 0 to import multiline text as multiple single line text boxes blocked together.
Importing multileader objects
You can import multileader objects, which are objects that contain a leader, text, or block data, into QY CAD. When imported into QY CAD the text is imported as a single text box with a leader grouped within a block.
The following describes how other multileader objects are imported into QY CAD:
-
AutoCAD multileader objects that contain predefined or user-defined blocks are translated to QY CAD as a leader, block, and block label. The AutoCAD leader is translated to QY CAD as a leader. The AutoCAD block geometry is translated QY CAD as a block. The AutoCAD attribute is translated to QY CAD as a draft label. The leader and block are placed in a graphic group so you can move both objects with one selection.
-
AutoCAD multileader objects that do not reference any geometry or text (leader only) are translated to QY CAD as a leader without text.
-
AutoCAD multileader objects with a leader type set to None are translated to Solid Edge as a text box, or block without a leader.
-
AutoCAD multileader objects that contain more than one leader are translated to Solid Edge as two or more leaders. All of the leaders are placed in a single graphic group so that you can move all objects with one selection.
