Document properties
You can use the Fast Search functionality to identify the following types of document properties:
-
Standard QY CAD properties—For example, document number, revision number, project name, and document status information.
-
Custom properties—As defined in your templates and in the propseed.txt file.
In a multiple-user deployment, to ensure that custom properties are consistent, we recommend that the propseed.txt and template files are in a shared location that can be accessed by the Fast Search configuration utility on the server and by the Fast Search configuration (QY CAD Options) on every CAD computer.
The properties you define in templates are automatically created for each new file you create in QY CAD, but those properties do not contain lists and the new properties are not available for existing files.
For the properties you define in the propseed.txt file, you can define lists for title, category, keyword, and project name properties, as well as custom properties. Properties are not automatically added to QY CAD files, but you can add them using the predefined configuration with optional lists for selection and are added to the Windows Indexer. You can add these properties through Design Manager, or in QY CAD through Property Manager.
