Modeling parts from drawing views

You use the Create 3D command to select drawing views in a Draft document that you want to use as sketches in a Part document. You can then use the sketches to create a 3D model that the drawing view geometry depicts.

This makes it easy to construct 3D solid models from 2D legacy drawings for which no 3D solid model exists.

Note:

There are two activities in this tutorial. The second activity depends on completion of the first activity.

This tutorial is designed for the Synchronous environment. Before proceeding, ensure the Start Part and Sheet Metal documents using this environment option on the Helpers page of the QY CAD Options dialog box is set to Synchronous. If the option is set to Ordered, close the QY CAD tutorial file, set the option to Synchronous, and restart the tutorial.
