3D Point command
Use the 3D Point command to place a point in 3D space. You can place a point by:
-
Clicking in 3D space.
-
Selecting a keypoint on existing geometry.
-
Entering an XYZ coordinate on the command bar. The coordinates are relative to the selected coordinate system.
-
Locking to a coordinate system plane and entering planar coordinates on the command bar. The coordinates are relative to the selected coordinate system.
Locking to a coordinate system plane
When locking to a coordinate system plane (1), the Z: coordinate on the command bar is disabled. Instead, a locked plane triad is displayed (2). The locked plane triad displays an H (horizontal direction) and a V (vertical direction). The X: field on the command bar is in the H direction and the Y: field is in the V direction.
