QY CAD Motion environment
The Tools tab→Environs group→Motion command displays the command ribbon available in the Motion environment, so you can define mechanical joints and forces that cause a mechanism to move.
-
To return to the Assembly environment, click the Close Motion button on the Home tab.
For more information, see:
License-based motion simulation
The commands that are enabled and disabled in the Motion environment are determined by your license.
-
Basic motion simulation is included in QY CAD at no charge. You can use basic motion simulation for approximating the effects of motors, springs, collisions, and gravity on assemblies. Basic motion simulation accounts for the mass derived from material properties in calculating motion results.
-
Dynamic motion simulation is included with a QY CAD Premium license or a QY CAD Simulation license. Dynamic motion simulation allows you to define more advanced motion elements as inputs (for example, external forces, functions, and applied loads), and produces accurate engineering data as output (for example, forces and moments, acceleration, and friction). To see the effect of detailed stress, factor of safety, and deformation responses of your motion components, you can use the calculated motion forces and moments as input to a previously defined QY CAD Simulation linear static study, without having to define the loads and boundary conditions yourself.
