blackbody
Represents the ability of a face to absorb or emit radiation. Theoretically, a blackbody emits all of the thermal radiation it can, and absorbs 100 percent of the thermal radiation striking it.
This concept is used in radiation to space loads, to define the radiant exchange between a finite element analysis face and blackbody or infinite space. A body with a surface emissivity of 1.0 is capable of absorbing or transmitting 100 percent of radiation. Most physical objects have surface emissivity less than 1.0.
