Using variables in part models

This tutorial introduces the commands that allow the creation and editing of design variables in QY CAD. Construct a simple part model and use these commands to do the following:

• Rename dimensions

• Define design variables that control dimensions in the part model

• Define formulas that relate design variables to one another

Learn how to construct a parametric model where editing the value of one or two key dimensions causes the rest of the model to update in a predictable manner. These concepts can be applied to a wide range of models, as most designs have features that are interrelated.
