Using the 3D print service portal

If you do not have access to a locally installed 3D printer from your computer, you can use a QY CAD registered service portal to produce 3D printed output from your model. This enables you to get your prototypes made quickly, no matter where you are located. Submit your files directly to one of our cloud service partners and order only the services that you want. When completed, the 3D printed models are shipped directly to the address you provide.

Our 3D print service portal is located on the Application menu→3D Print page. On the left pane, under Services, choose Order Online .

There are two print service providers available by default with QY CAD: 3YourMind and Shining 3D.

Some of the features provided in our service portal include:

• The interface has SSL encryption to protect your designs.

• It provides automatic, interactive model validation to provide feedback on the validity of your model. This ensures you do not waste money on designs that cannot be manufactured.

• To submit your file for evaluation and pricing, and to place your order directly with the additive manufacturing partner that you choose, you can do either of the following:

  • If your model is already open in QY CAD, you can submit it by selecting the Order Online button.

  • You also can drag your file directly into the portal from Windows Explorer, or you can click to locate and upload it.
