Tip:
  • You may also want to Create a total length parts list.

  • To produce a parts list that uses the assembly model item numbering schema, select the Use assembly generated item numbers check box on the Options page (Parts List Properties dialog box.

If this option is unavailable, you need to set the Maintain item numbers check box on the Item Numbers page (QY CAD Options dialog box), in the assembly document.

  • You can change the parts list anchor point before you place the table using the Page Anchor Point option on the General tab of the Parts List Properties dialog box. You also can move the parts list later by dragging it to a new location.

  • You can edit the parts list after you place it. Select the parts list, and then click the Properties button on the command bar.

To learn how you can change the appearance of individual elements of a table—titles, columns, headers, and data cells—without changing the table style, see the help topic, Manipulate table rows and columns.

  • If you added a column for the Created, Modified, Accessed or Originated properties, you can apply date and time formatting to the date displayed in the column. Click in the property text string, and then select the Format button to the right of the Property text box. You can choose the formatting you want from the Format Values dialog box.

For more information, see the help topic, Format property text values.

  • Your parts list can include document and part properties such as Title, Document Number, Material, and Density. You can use the File Properties command and the Material Table command in the Part and Sheet Metal environments to define these characteristics. After you have defined the properties, use the Columns tab in the Parts List Properties dialog box to add the columns you want.

See these help topics for examples of how you can customize your parts list:

  • You can rename the column headings in your parts list. In the Part List Properties dialog box, on the Columns tab, select the column heading you want to rename in the Columns Used list. Then type the new name in the Title Text box.

  • If parts are missing in a parts list for an assembly drawing, verify that the missing parts are not turned off in the assembly document Occurrence Properties dialog box. To learn how to do this, see the help topic, Display assembly parts in a drawing view or parts list.
