Save As command

Saves a copy of selected items within a QY CAD structure to a new Item ID, revision, item name, and optionally, a new Item Type. You can use this command, for example, when you want to copy some of, but not all of, the files that comprise the assembly structure. When the documents are displayed in the Structure Editor target pane, the Item ID and Revision are blank and new values must be assigned.

Note:

The Teamcenter preference SEEC_SaveAs_New_ItemType_SESE must be set to True to enable the selection of a different Item Type when you use Save As.

You can also use the Save As command to save an item into an existing object, thereby overwriting existing properties. An overwrite can occur are when you:

In these cases, the text in the Save As cell of the Action column is shown italicized to indicate that you are overwriting existing property information.

When you select an item for the Save As action, the action for its parent document is set to Update. This action updates the link to point to the new file if the parent is not selected for the Save As action. When you select the parent document for Save As, the link is updated and the original document is not modified.

Note:

The Save As and Save As All commands are invalid for CAD documents not created or owned by QY CAD (such as a driven reference). The documents must be modified in the non-QY CAD CAD system. Alternately, you can take ownership of the foreign CAD document so that QY CAD becomes the owner of the item revision.
