About the Rigid Set relationship
In this section: 4.5.30.1. Using the Rigid Set command bar |
(Home tab→Assemble group→Rigid Set )
The Rigid Set relationship is applied between two or more components and fixes them such that they are rigid with respect to each other. This relationship can be useful during the assembly process to constrain a relationship that would otherwise be unconstrained while other subsequent relationships are applied. The relationship is created in the active assembly and can contain subassemblies.
When this relationship is applied, any previously-defined, shared relationships that are counter-intuitive have the option of being either suppressed, deleted, or ignored. For more information, see Place a Rigid Set relationship and Using the Rigid Set command bar.
Rigid Set behaviors
-
If a Rigid Set relationship is selected from PathFinder, all the components that are part of that relationship are highlighted.
-
To add subassemblies to a Rigid Set, they must be selected from PathFinder.
-
If the Rigid Set relationship is deleted from PathFinder, it is deleted from all components in the Rigid Set.
-
If a component that is a member of a Rigid Set is deleted from the assembly, the remaining members stay in the Rigid Set.
-
A component can be a member of more than one Rigid Set.
