Change 3D model assignments

You can manually change the 3D model assigned to the PCB component or assigned to a PCB component that doesn't have a 3D model assignment.

1. Use ECAD Collaborator to import PCB data.

2. Make sure that the Collaboration Directory box is set to the location where you want to place the 3D models. You can set this path in the Settings dialog box.

   If you use a 3D model that is not available in the starter library, you must convert the model's STEP (.stp) file to a part file and correct the orientation before saving it to the library folder.

3. Click PCB→Properties and select the PCB item you want modify.

   This item is the 3D model assignment that you want to change.

4. On the Properties dialog box, click the Modify button.

5. On the Replace Component dialog box, select the replacement component, and then click Open.

   If the 3D model you selected is not assigned to a component, the 3D model box on the Properties dialog box is empty.

6. On the Properties dialog box, click OK.

   QY CAD updates the 3D model assignment for the component.
