Save As Image dialog box


Specifies the name, location, and format for an image when you save it.

Address bar

Navigates to a folder or library to which you want to save the document.

Note:

If you want to browse a network share, you must map the share to a network drive.

Search

Finds an item in the current folder or library. The search begins as soon as you start typing.

Toolbar

Contains options for changing the appearance of your files and folders, organizing, and creating new folders, and accessing Windows Help and Support. The options available in the toolbar change to show only the options that are relevant.

Navigation pane

Displays libraries, folders, and disk drives on your computer.

Files list

Displays the contents of the folder or library selected.

File name

Specifies the name of the document.

Save as type

Specifies the document type you want to use to save the document. The available options depend on the type of document you are saving.

  • Windows bitmap (.bmp)—A device-independent, raster graphics image format, which can contain a variety of color depths (black and white, 16 colors with a palette, 256 colors with a palette, and 24-bit true color).

  • JPEG Image (.jpg)—A bitmap image file compression algorithm that is most suitable for compressing true color photographs and continuous tone images. You can use the Image Options dialog box to control the amount of data lost during the JPEG compression process.

  • TIFF Image (.tif)—A highly flexible format that facilitates the exchange of bitmap data between applications. This option is popular in printing, prepress, and publishing applications.

  • VRML Document (.wrl)—Use the Virtual Reality Modeling Language file format when you want to share files containing 3D model graphics files over the Internet.

Options

Accesses the Image Options dialog box.
