Rotate a view by aligning an edge
The Align Edge command is available in the Customize Orientation dialog box, which you can open using the Custom button in the Drawing View Creation Wizard (Drawing View Layout) dialog box. You also can make it available on the ribbon through customization.
To align a linear edge with the horizontal axis of the view

Click the Align Edge button

In the graphics window, click an edge you want to align with the horizontal axis of the view.
To align a linear edge with an approximate angle you define with the cursor

Click the Align Edge button.

Position the cursor over an edge, and when the edge highlights, drag the cursor to define the approximate angle to which you want to orient the edge.
To align a linear edge to a precise angle

Click the Align Edge button

On the command bar, in the Rotation Angle box, type the precise angle you want, but do not press the Enter key.
Tip:The rotation angle is the angle between the line that you select and the line the view is rotating about. The angle is measured in the clockwise direction.

Position the cursor over the edge you want, then click to select it.

Press the Enter key to rotate the view.
