Create a new layer


  1. Click the Layers tab .

  2. On the Layers tab, click the New Layer button .

    Tip:

    • You can also create new layers using the New Layer command on the shortcut menu of the Layers collection node.

    • Layer names are not case sensitive, can contain 250 characters, and can include the following characters: ($), (-), and (_). If you export your Draft document to AutoCAD any non-supported characters, including spaces, are converted to underscores in AutoCAD. Also, even though a layer can contain 250 characters, only AutoCAD version 2000 supports long layer names. If you export to any other version of AutoCAD, long layer names are truncated to 26 characters.
