steady state heat transfer
Study which focuses on the thermal conditions of a body when it reaches equilibrium. For steady state thermal studies with a heat source, you must define a mechanism for heat dissipation. Otherwise, temperatures will increase without limit.
Steady state heat transfer studies are of two types:
-
Linear—Analyzes problems that do not involve radiation or temperature-dependent properties and boundary conditions.
-
Non-linear—Analyzes problems that involve radiation or temperature-dependent properties and boundary conditions.
