united bodies

Selected surfaces, solids, and design bodies within the document that are combined into one body using the Unite Bodies command. A united body produces a continuous mesh, which produces better simulation results.

United bodies may contain both manifold and non-manifold topology.

United bodies are listed under the Simulation Geometry node in the Simulation tree-view pane. For each united body created from surfaces, a Thickness node also shows the default value of the mesh thickness. You can edit the mesh thickness value using the Edit Thickness command on the shortcut menu.

To learn how you can use united bodies to optimize a model, see Assembly best practices for simulation.
