Copy a partial QY CAD structure

You can copy part of a QY CAD structure and save it to a new item number, revision, and item name using the Save As Selected command. This is also known as cloning.

  1. In the Structure Editor upper-left window pane, select the rows corresponding to each document that you want to clone.

  2. Click Save As Selected on the toolbar.

    Tip:

Alternatively, you can right-click in the Action column of each selected document, and then choose Save As from the shortcut menu.

  3. In the upper-right window pane, the required data fields are marked by a red asterisk. Do one of the following:

    • Manually update the data—Click in each of the Item Number, Revision, and Item Name columns for the selected document, type a new entry, and then choose Assign from the shortcut menu.

    • Use the auto-assign feature—Right-click in the white space of the window pane, and then choose Assign All from the shortcut menu.

      Tip:

When you use the auto-assign feature, all required fields (those displaying a red asterisk) are updated automatically.

  4. Choose File→Perform Actions, or click Perform Actions on the toolbar.
