Check Out command

Downloads the document from Teamcenter and locks the document so that other users cannot make modifications. Any parts or subassemblies which may have been added to the subassembly out of context are downloaded to cache to ensure the structure and properties of the active document are up-to-date. The Check Out command also changes the document status in the local cache to read-write, so you can make changes to the document.

When you check documents out of a Teamcenter-managed environment, the Select Revision Rule dialog box is displayed so you can choose which revision rule is used. If you check out a direct document, the associated linked indirect documents are downloaded to your local cache and use the revision rule specified. If you in-place activate a part in an assembly, the part is checked out. The Check Out command acts on the direct document when no document is selected, or on documents within a selection set.

Note:

In Teamcenter, if more than one file is identified for check out, the same revision rule is applied to all the documents being checked out.

Managed direct documents opened with read-only permissions can be checked out using the Check Out command. The command verifies the active document is the most recent version, checks the file out, sets the file to a writable state, and enables the Save command for you to save any in-memory file changes. This command is available in Teamcenter environments for Assembly (.asm), Part (.par), Sheet Metal (.psm), and Draft (.dft).

Note:

The Check Out command does not transfer any files from the server since the active document is the latest version.
