Frame command

Creates structural frames along a selected path. The path can consist of 3D line segments, an assembly sketch or existing edges of a part placed in the assembly. When part edges are used to define the frame, single edges, tangent chains, or all the edges on a solid body can be used as input for creating the frame.

Part edges can be used to define the frame. Single edges, tangent chains, or all the edges on a solid body can be used as input for creating the frame.

Splitting intersecting frames

Use the new Split intersecting frames option on the Frame Options dialog box to automatically split the frames where the paths intersect. It also splits the sketch used to create the frames.

Prior to QY CAD version 2022, you had to split all of the intersecting path sketches to split the intersecting frame. Now, you can use the new option in conjunction with the Single frame for collinear segments option to get the desired results.

You can also toggle the combination of which frames you want to split and the frames you want to remain unsplit.

Trimming frames

You can trim frames to multiple objects, such as faces, bodies, or planes.

In the following example, you can trim the middle frame (A) to the two adjacent frames (B) and (C).

You can select the faces from three different frames to trim the middle frame.
