Specifies the type of ruled surface.

Tangent Continuous—Specifies that the surface is tangent continuous to an adjacent face of the selected edge.

Normal to face—Specifies that the surface is normal to an adjacent face of the selected edge.
 -                         
Tapered to plane—Specifies that the surface is normal to a defined plane or at an angle to a defined plane.
 -                         
Natural—Specifies that there are no constraining conditions enforced at the selected edge.
 -                         
Along an axis—Specifies that the surface is along a defined axis or at an angle to defined axis.

 - Select Edges Step
 -                   
Selects the edges to create a rule surface.
 - Alternate Face/Side Step
 -                   
Specifies the adjacent face of the selected edge to which the tangency control should be applied or the side of the draft.
 - Select Step Options

Sets the method of selecting faces to offset. You can use any combination of selection methods to select a set of faces. Hold the Ctrl key to select more than one face at a time. Hold the Shift key to deselect a face.

Single—Allows you to select individual faces, or to select all faces adjacent to a corner by selecting the corner.
 -                         
Chain—Allows you to select tangentially continuous chains of faces.
 
 -                         
 - Accept (check mark)
 -                   
Accepts the selection.
 - Deselect (x)
 -                   
Clears the selection.
