Physical Properties dialog box
Displays the physical properties of a part or an assembly.

Allows you to manually define the physical properties for an assembly, part or a weldment. When the option is set, all data boxes become available so that you can enter the user-defined properties. The Coordinate System, Density, and Accuracy boxes, as well as the Update button, become unavailable.
- Coordinate System
-
Sets the coordinate system for the properties to be computed relative to. A drop list contains all user-defined coordinate systems plus an entry for the Model Space coordinate system, which is the default. As you move the cursor over the entries in the list, the coordinate system under the cursor highlights graphically.
- Material

Displays the material name and density for the part. These options are available only for part and sheet metal documents.
The material and density for a part is set using the Material Table command. You can click the Change button to display the QY CAD Material Table dialog box.
- Name

Displays the material name for the part.
- Density

Displays the density for the part or weldment. The value is in the active working units for density. You set the density value by using the Material Properties tab in the QY CAD Material Table dialog box. This option is available in the Part, Sheet Metal, and Weldment environments.
- Change

Displays the QY CAD Material Table dialog box so you can change the material or edit the mechanical properties, such as density for the part.
- Component Density

Sets the component density for parts in a weldment that have not had their density defined. This option is available only in the Weldment environment.
Note:For weldments, this value is used only if the parent part is missing or the part does not have a density already defined. Also, the density value for a weldment only applies to the active document and is used for computations at that level. The density for the weldment is not saved to parts with no density. You should add to the correct density for all parts. You can use the Property Manager command to determine which densities are missing and then add the density column to the Property Manager display.
- Bead Density

Sets the weld bead density. This option is available only in the Weldment environment.
- Accuracy (0 to 1.0)

Sets the accuracy of the physical properties calculation. A lower value processes faster, but reduces the accuracy of the result.
To display absolute accuracy, set the accuracy to 1.0. This will return a +0/-0 tolerance.
- Update on File Save

Recalculates physical properties when you save the document.
Note:QY CAD Assembly templates are delivered with update physical properties turned off. As a result, assemblies marked as driven references are not automatically updated. Enable the Update on file save option when you use the Multi-CAD capability in the Teamcenter-managed environment.
- Update

Updates the physical properties of a part, a weldment, or an assembly. Physical properties can require updating if you add, remove, or modify a feature on a part or a weldment; or if you add or remove a component from an assembly. A message is displayed at the bottom of the dialog box that indicates whether the physical properties are up-to-date or out-of-date.
- Save As

Saves the physical properties data to a document.
