Using queries to find model objects in a drawing view

You can use the Display tab in the Drawing View Properties dialog box to create a query to find a specific type of model object, and then hide all instances of it in the drawing view at once. Using a query in this manner, you can quickly simplify a drawing of a complex assembly model, without having to select and hide the individual elements within each assembly part.

For example, you can use the Component Geometry query property to locate and select physical geometry, such as frames, pipes, tubes, welds, design bodies, parts, and assemblies. This category also finds all instances of the center of mass symbol, coordinate system symbol, construction elements, sketches, reference planes, and centerlines.
