Hide or show a cutting plane


You can hide the cutting plane used to define a section view by moving it to a new layer and then hiding the layer.

Hide a cutting plane using layers
  1. Create a new layer by doing one of the following:

    • On the Layers tab, do the following:

      1. Click the New Layer button .

      2. Right-click the Layers node and select New Layer.

      A new layer with a default name, for example Layer1, is added to the Layers node of the active drawing sheet. The layer name field is already selected for input.

    • Type a new name for the layer, for example, Cutting Plane.

  2. Move the cutting plane to the new layer by doing all of the following:

    1. On the drawing sheet, select the cutting plane you want to hide.

    2. On the Layers tab, click the Move Elements button .

    3. In the Move Elements dialog box, select the layer to move the cutting plane to, and then click OK.

  3. Double-click any other layer to make it active.

  4. Hide the cutting plane layer by doing one of the following:

    • On the Layers tab, select the cutting plane layer, and then click the Hide Layer button .

    • Right-click the cutting plane layer, and then choose Hide from its shortcut menu.

  5. Click in the active window to update the display.
