Broken View command bar
- Style
-
Sets the style for the broken view lines.
Define Break Axis
-
This option creates realistic breaks in isometric views and in parts that are not elongated in the X and Y directions.
To use this option:
-
Select Use Break Axis from the Break Line Orientation list.
-
Define the axis by clicking two key points or linear elements in the drawing view.
Note:Just one break axis can be defined per drawing view.
-
- Break Line Orientation
-
Specifies that you want to break the view along a defined axis (Use Break Axis option) or using the X or Y axes of the drawing view (Horizontal/Vertical option).
-
The following options are displayed when you select the Horizontal/Vertical break line orientation.
Vertical Break
-
Define a break region using vertical lines.
Horizontal Break
-
Define a break region using horizontal lines.
-
The following options are displayed when you select the Use Break Axis break line orientation.
'Along the Axis' Break
-
Specifies that the drawing view is broken along the defined break axis.
'Normal to Axis' Break
-
Specifies that the drawing view is broken perpendicular to the defined break axis.
If the geometry in the view is wider than it is high, the direction of the break is set to ‘Along the Axis’. Otherwise, the break direction is set to ‘Normal to Axis’.
- Break Line Type
-
Specifies the break line type. You can select from the following options.
-
Straight Break
-
Cylindrical Break
-
Short Break - Linear
-
Short Break - Curved
-
Long Break
-
- Break Gap
-
Sets the break gap distance between a pair of break lines when the view is displayed in the broken state. You can type a value or select a value from the list.
- Height (0-1)
-
Specifies the height of the zigzags or waves when the short break or long break options are selected. The value is a ratio of the break gap. You can type a value between .01 and 1.0.
Example:If the break gap value is 10 millimeters and you set the zigzag height to 0.5, the zigzag height is 5 millimeters.
- Pitch
-
Specifies the pitch value of a zigzag or a wave in the short break options. You can type a value between .01 and 1.0. The value you type is multiplied times the total length of the break line and determines the number of zigzags.
Example:If the total straight length of the break line is 10 millimeters, and you specify a pitch value of 0.1, then the straight length of one zigzag is 1 millimeter and there are a total of 10 zigzags.
- Symbols
-
Specifies the number of spikes that are displayed when you select the Long Break option.
- Finish
-
Breaks the drawing view in the specified locations and exits the command.
