Group or ungroup entries in PathFinder


Grouping entries in PathFinder allows you to work with them as a unit and conserve space.

Note:

Ordered entries must be contiguous; synchronous entries do not have to be contiguous.

To group or ungroup parts in an assembly in PathFinder

  1. Do one of the following:

    • To group parts, select one or more part entries in PathFinder.

    • To ungroup parts, select the group entry title in PathFinder.

  2. On the PathFinder shortcut menu, choose Group or Ungroup.

To select a set of grouped parts

  1. Select the group entry title in PathFinder.

  2. On the PathFinder shortcut menu, choose Select Components.

To group or ungroup PathFinder entries in a part

  1. Do one of the following:

    • To group entries, select two or more entries in PathFinder.

      Note:

      If the entries are Ordered, they must be contiguous.

    • To ungroup entries, select the group entry title in PathFinder

  2. On the PathFinder shortcut menu, choose Group or Ungroup.

To group or ungroup PMI entries (dimensions and annotations)

Note:

PMI groups will exist under the PathFinder PMI container.

  1. Do one of the following:

    • To group PMI entries, select two or more entries in PathFinder.

    • To ungroup PMI entries, select the group entry title in the PathFinder PMI container.

  2. On the PathFinder shortcut menu, choose Group or Ungroup.

To rename a group entry

  1. Select a group entry title in PathFinder.

  2. On the shortcut menu, choose Rename, then type the name you want.

Tip:
  • Grouping parts or features in PathFinder reduces the space requirements for complex assemblies or parts, and makes it easier to locate, select, and manipulate parts or features as a unit.
