Set part properties in an assembly
-
In Assembly PathFinder, right-click a part or subassembly in the assembly, and then choose the Occurrence Properties command
from the shortcut menu.
-
In the Occurrence Properties dialog box, set the options you want to use.
Tip:-
When you select the top-level assembly entry in Assembly PathFinder and then click the Occurrence Properties command, the entire assembly structure is displayed in a bill of materials format. You can use the (+) and (-) symbols to expand and collapse the assembly structure.
-
When you select one or more parts or subassemblies, the selected occurrences are displayed in a table format that cannot be expanded or collapsed.
-
From the top-level assembly, you can override system occurrence property values and custom occurrence property values in lower-level, read-only parts and subassemblies. For more information, see Custom occurrence properties in assembly.
-
Sometimes you want to ensure that a specific custom occurrence property value is shown whenever a certain part is used in an assembly. For example, you always want the part to be painted red. In this case, open the lowest-level assembly that contains the part, and then assign a custom occurrence property Paint=Red to the part in that context. Every time that assembly is used, the predefined paint color for the part is listed in the Occurrence Properties dialog box.
-
If you need to change the properties of a managed subassembly, you must first check out all subassemblies where the occurrence properties are being modified. Then the documents can be saved and checked back into Teamcenter.
