Assemble several parts in an assembly

  1. From the Parts Library tab, drag components, parts, and subassemblies into the assembly document.

    Tip:

You can display the Parts Library tab by selecting Home tab→Assemble group→Insert Component .

  2. Choose Home tab→Assemble group→Assemble .

  3. Do the following for each component, part, and subassembly:

    1. On the Place Part command bar, from the Relationship Types list, select the assembly relationship you want to use.

    2. Apply the relationship by selecting a face or other element on the first part you want to place, and then select a face or other element on a target part in the assembly.

    3. Right-click to release the current part.

    4. Select the next part you want to place.

    Tip:
    • When assembling parts, you may get more predictable results when you apply the first relationship to a grounded or fully positioned part.

    • After you apply a relationship between two parts, the first part you select remains selected so you can apply additional relationships to the part.
